Welcome to Minding My Mindfulness
A mindful living space for reflections on growth, healing, self-awareness, and emotional wellness. Through gentle storytelling and thoughtful writing, Minding My Mindfulness invites you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the present moment.
About Minding My Mindfulness
Some days, mindfulness arrives effortlessly. The breath deepens, the mind quiets, and presence feels like a familiar friend. There’s a stillness that settles in, offering clarity and calm—a kind of soft awareness that guides the day. On these days, it’s easy to feel grounded. Focus comes naturally. The heart feels open.
Other days, however, mindfulness slips through the cracks. The mental noise of responsibilities, lingering emotions, and scattered thoughts drowns out the silence I crave. I catch myself moving on autopilot, overwhelmed or disconnected, reaching for grounding but not always finding it.
These contrasting moments are part of what shaped Minding My Mindfulness. It isn’t just about staying present—it’s about noticing when I’m not. This blog was born from the very real, very human experience of drifting and returning. And that return? That’s the true practice.
The Practice of Returning to Self
Mindfulness isn’t about perfection—it’s about returning. When I notice I’ve drifted into distraction or overwhelm, I gently come back. That quiet return is the practice. Minding My Mindfulness is a space for that return. A place to pause, reset, and reconnect with what matters.
What Presence Truly Is
Presence isn’t the absence of thought. It’s the courage to stay with what’s here—joy, grief, calm, or chaos. It’s not about fixing or escaping, but allowing space for what is. That’s where real connection lives.
The Quiet Work
Mindfulness is quiet, imperfect work: noticing, drifting, returning. Not with shame—but with self-compassion. Each return becomes a small act of care. A reminder: I’m still here, still trying, still becoming.
Why Minding My Mindfulness Exists
I created this space because I needed it—an honest place to reflect, soften, and begin again. Mindfulness isn’t a destination. It’s the ongoing choice to return, whether with a deep breath or a quiet whisper. Every moment belongs. Every return matters.
About Louise
I’m Louise—a Brooklyn-based writer, licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), and psychotherapist who believes deeply in the healing power of presence. My work, both personal and professional, centers around holding space—for reflection, for growth, and for the kind of self-awareness that leads to quiet transformation.
Through Minding My Mindfulness, I share honest reflections about what it means to live mindfully. Not in theory—but in the real, beautiful, and often challenging moments that shape our everyday lives.
I write not to teach from a pedestal, but to sit beside you in this shared practice of noticing, softening, and returning.
About The Art

Vibe Graphix is the visual arm of Minding My Mindfulness—a creative expression of mindful presence. Using AI-generated art, I explore visual storytelling that evokes softness, curiosity, and emotional resonance.
Each image is created with intention, offering a visual breath—a moment to pause, feel, and reflect. Just like the writing, the art is meant to be a companion on your journey inward.
About My Journey
Some reflections live even closer to the heart. The My Journey section is where I write more intimately about my own life—love, loss, grief, and the healing that follows.
These are the stories that shaped me. That continues to shape this work. In particular, A Box of Memories is one of the most personal pieces I’ve shared—a quiet tribute to the people I’ve loved and lost, told through the keepsakes and photographs they left behind.
It’s a reminder that mindfulness is not just about being present with what’s here—it’s also about honoring what has been, and gently making room for what’s next.
For those drawn to explore more personal reflections, the My Journey collection offers additional stories of healing, growth, and quiet becoming.
